The project
● UX/UI design
● In house
The goal of this onboarding design was to increase user retention by creating a transparent and user-centric onboarding experience. A key challenge was building user trust around the collection of personal data, which was crucial for the app's functionality. I addressed this by designing a smooth, easy-to-use flow that clearly communicated the value of data collection using a series of light UX patterns. The result was a more respectful and trustworthy experience for the user.
The process
My process began with intensive UX research to understand the key pain points and trust issues users faced during onboarding. The insights from this research directly informed the wireframe drafting, where I explored multiple solutions for a more streamlined flow.
Following the initial wireframe iterations, I conducted usability testing with a small group of users. The findings from this round provided crucial feedback, which I then used to refine the final designs. I validated these designs in a second round of testing with a larger sample to ensure the new user journey was intuitive and effective before handing the project over to the development team.
My role
As the lead designer on this project, I owned the end-to-end design process. My responsibilities went beyond just creating screens; I also managed key relationships to ensure a successful outcome.
I drove alignment with stakeholders, the Product Owner, and the Marketing team to ensure the project goals were met.
I maintained a close working relationship with the development team, ensuring a smooth handoff and that the final design was implemented accurately and efficiently.
